decluttr offers a buyback program and you can check how much you could sell it for here. Another option is ecoATM
If you would like to donate your cell phone instead, Secure The Call is a national nonprofit that recycles cell phones for a safer community and helps provide connection for victims of domestic violence and for COVID 19 patients in hospitals. Cell Phones for Soldiers provides free cell communication to active military and veterans.
An option for recycling cell phones is Call2Recycle where you can find a local drop off location, such as Lowes, Home Depot and Staples.

ThredUp - super simple and an easy way to sell your clothing. They send you a postage pre-paid bag, you fill it up and send it back, they take care of the rest and send you a check for what sells.
Crossroads Trading - provides the same service as ThredUp.
The RealReal - for select high end designer clothing. This is their list of accepted designers. They even offer at-home pickup of your items.

Curbside and Drop Off recycling with Mecklenburg County.

To sell books locally, head to 2nd and Charles. They also will buy select CDs, DVDs, video games, game systems, musical instruments, action figures, games and toys, and comics.
A great place to donate books in Charlotte is Julia’s Cafe & Books, which is affiliated with Habitat For Humanity. Another option is to donate to your local Little Free Library.
